Athletes from the Corinthians women's football youth categories participated, last Wednesday (3), in an educational lecture on violence against women. The activity brought together players between 13 and 20 years old and aimed to increase young women's knowledge about rights, forms of violence and support channels available to victims.
The meeting was led by lawyer and human rights specialist Daniele Akamine, who promoted a conversation focused on awareness and prevention. The lecture also addressed the trajectory of women in sport, especially in football, a sport that has historically faced barriers and prejudices related to female participation.

During the activity, the athletes shared personal experiences and experiences observed both in the sporting environment and outside it. The space was also used to clarify doubts and carry out activities that encouraged the participation of young women throughout the meeting.
Among the topics discussed were different forms of violence against women, including physical, psychological, moral, property and digital aggression. In addition, guidance was presented on how to identify risk situations and what paths can be used to seek support and protection.
When commenting on the initiative, Daniele highlighted the importance of raising awareness among teenagers about abusive behaviors that often go unnoticed in everyday life.
"We talked a lot about the difference between control and care, and the paths that lead to violence against women. More than that, we were able to show where to look for help and show that violence can have many faces and be practiced in different ways, many of which are unimaginable. The good thing about what we saw here today is that there is a new generation of women who know what they want and are willing to break that link, if necessary," he said.
The action is part of the initiatives developed by Corinthians aimed at training athletes beyond the four lines, promoting debates on citizenship, human rights and social themes relevant to the personal and professional development of young players.
