Corinthians Women gives up on trip to Mato Grosso and changes interseason planning

The Corinthians women's team made a change in its interseason planning and chose not to go to Mato Grosso to take part in the preparation and, consequently, canceling the trip. The information was initially published by the Meu Timão portal. According to the report, the intention was for the Brabas to travel to the Central-West at the beginning of next week to complete a training schedule and play at least one friendly match during the break for the World Cup, which takes place between June 11 and July 19 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The decision to cancel the trip was made jointly between the technical committee and the board of directors of the Corinthians women's football department. In this way, the club will maintain all its preparation in São Paulo, at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. Athletes must play at least one training game on São Paulo soil before the official return of the 2026 season.

It is worth remembering that Brabas will return to the pitch on July 17th, Friday, when they will face Ferroviária, at 7pm (Brasília time), at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in the fourth round of the first qualifying phase of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino. In the first three rounds, they scored four points in three games - nine goals scored and four conceded.

Corinthians and Ferroviária will also face each other in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The duel will take place on July 23rd, Thursday, at 3pm, in Araraquara, at Arena Fonte Luminosa. For the Brasileirão Feminino, in which the team is the leader with 28 points, the Parque São Jorge club returns to action on July 26th, at 11 am, at Fazendinha, for the thirteenth match of the classification phase of the national competition.

In the second semester, Corinthians will also compete in the Conmebol Libertadores, which will be played between October 15th and 31st, in Ecuador. Conmebol has not yet released further details about the competition. Timão is six-time champion of the international tournament (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025).
