Even after achieving the most significant campaign of its history in Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), Corinthians is already starting to deal with important changes in the squad. Amid uncertainty about the investments allocated to the sport for next season, the club will be without two of the team's main names: winger Elyjah Clark and center Kauan Raymundo are leaving Parque São Jorge, according to information from Meu Timão.

According to the profile Repórter Laranja, specialized in basketball, the fate of the athletes has already been practically defined. Clark is close to reinforcing Minas, while Kauan should defend Brasília in the 2026/27 season.

The duo played an important role in the historic black and white campaign in the NBB. Corinthians ended the regular phase in sixth place and had a remarkable run in the knockout stages, eliminating Unifacisa in the round of 16 and, later, Minas in the quarterfinals. In both series, the team won 3-1.

Timão's progress was interrupted only in the semi-final, when the team led by Jece Leite ended up being beaten by Pinheiros, again by 3-1. Even with the elimination, the club reached this stage of the sport's main national competition for the first time.

Hired in 2023, Elyjah Clark quickly became one of the cast's main technical references. Before arriving at Corinthians, the North American accumulated experience in leagues in the United States, Türkiye, Kosovo, Argentina and Venezuela.

In the last edition of the NBB, the winger was voted the best player in his position in the competition. With an average of 16.9 points per game, he led Corinthians offensively throughout the campaign, which culminated in their unprecedented presence among the four best teams in the tournament.

Throughout his time at the club, Clark participated in 98 matches, recording 59 wins and 39 losses. His overall numbers with the black and white shirt were 14.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

Kauan Raymundo ends his second spell at Corinthians. The pivot arrived at the club in 2022 after leaving São Paulo and quickly became seen as one of the main promises in Brazilian basketball.

After playing for Timão between 2022 and 2024, the player chose to pursue a career in college basketball in the United States, playing for the NWF Raiders. The experience, however, was short-lived. Difficulties in adapting and the distance from his family contributed to his return to Brazil at the beginning of this year.

Back at Parque São Jorge, Kauan earned space in the main squad after standing out in the Basketball Development League (LDB). In 2025, he was named the competition's MVP after averaging 18 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

In the NBB's most recent campaign, the pivot contributed with averages of 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. His farewell comes after 144 matches for Corinthians, with a record of 86 wins and 58 losses.

Despite the losses in the squad, Corinthians has already guaranteed its presence in the 2026 Paulista Basketball Championship. The club confirmed its registration in the state competition, which is scheduled to start in August, ensuring the continuity of the project at least for the second semester.

The confirmation ended a period of doubts about the future of the sport, which came to terms with the possibility of closure after the end of the 2025/26 season.
