Corinthians visits Mixto in search of confirming the group's early leadership in the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship

Corinthians returns to the field this Sunday afternoon (28) for another commitment in the Brazilian Under-17 Women's Championship. The Brabinhas face Mixto, at 3pm (Brasília time), at the Almeidão Stadium, in João Pessoa (PB), in the fifth round of the group stage of the national competition.

The team led by Igor Ferreira arrives on the back of an impeccable campaign. With four wins in four matches, Timão maintains a 100% record and has already mathematically guaranteed qualification for the quarter-finals. Now, the objective is to secure first place in Group A one round in advance.

At the top of the group, Corinthians has 12 points, three more than second-placed UDA, which has already played five matches. If they achieve another victory this Sunday, the Parque São Jorge club will reach 15 points and will no longer be able to be reached by their group opponents, confirming their early leadership.

Corinthians campaign so far has been marked by consistent performances. In their debut, the Brabinhas scored the biggest defeat of the competition by beating Gazin Porto Velho 15 x 0. They then defeated Mixto 7 x 0, still in the first round. They then beat UDA on two consecutive occasions, both by a score of 3 x 2, results that guaranteed an early place in the knockout phase.

Probable lineup

For this Sunday's duel, the tendency is for Igor Ferreira to maintain the base of the team used in the last round. If the formation is repeated, Corinthians must start the match with Nathalia; Larissa, Elohá, Isa Soares, Natália Pereira; Gloria, Gimenez, Pietra; Kay, Lara Mel and Julia Romero.

Arbitration

The arbitration will be composed exclusively of professionals from Paraíba. Ruthyanna Camila Medeiros da Silva referees the match, assisted by Flavia Renally Costa Faustino da Silva and Arlindo Nascimento dos Santos Junior. Weslley Gabriel Souza Velozo will be the fourth referee. As with other matches in this phase, the match will not feature the use of a video referee (VAR).

After the match against Mixto, Corinthians ends their participation in the group stage next Saturday (4), when they host Gazin Porto Velho, at 3pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the sixth and final round of the Brazilian Under-17 Women's Championship.
