Corinthians under-20s lose unbeaten record away from home this season

Corinthians lost, this Wednesday (1st), their unbeaten record as a visitor in the under-20 team's season. The break in the good sequence happened precisely in the defeat against Juventude, in a duel valid for the last round of the first phase of the Brasileirão under-20.

In the duel held in Caxias do Sul, Timãozinho saw its longest unbeaten streak away from home since 2017 come to an end. In the current season, Alvinegro had six wins (Grêmio, Criciúma, São Paulo, Cuiabá, Mirassol and Cruzeiro) and four draws (Bahia, Botafogo, Red Bull Bragantino and Santos) - 17 goals scored and nine conceded. The numbers include games valid for the Paulista and Brazilian Championships in the category.

Corinthians entered the field this Wednesday afternoon (1st) to face Juventude, away from home, and ended up defeated 1-0. The match was valid for the last round of the first phase of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, and despite the setback, Filhos do Terrão advanced to the knockout stage of the tournament.

With the result, Timãozinho remained in eighth place with 29 points - eight wins, five draws and five defeats - 31 goals scored and 25 conceded. Even so, Filhos do Terrão advanced and will face Palmeiras in the next phase. The under-20's last defeat this year had happened against their rival, on May 19th, in a game valid for the Brasileirão.

Next appointment

After facing Juventude, away from home, in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Corinthians resumes its priorities to compete in the category's Paulistão. Next Sunday (5), at 11am (Brasília time), Timão enters the field to face Sertãozinho, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in the fourth round of the state championship. In the first three rounds, Alvinegro recorded two wins and a draw - three goals scored and zero conceded, occupying fifth place in Group 1.
