On the afternoon of this Wednesday (8), at 3pm (Brasília time), Corinthians will face Palmeiras, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the 2026 Brazilian Under-20 Championship. In the first phase, Alvinegro was in eighth place with 29 points - eight wins, five draws and five defeats - 31 goals scored and 25 conceded. The arch-rival had the best overall campaign with 44 points.

Corinthians qualified for the knockout stage of the national competition for the first time since 2023, when they fell in the semi-finals, precisely to Alviverde after a 6 x 1 aggregate. In the last two seasons, Timãozinho fought at the bottom of the table, adding 18 points in 2024 and 20 last year. This season, Filhos do Terrão is coming off a 1-0 victory over Sertãozinho at Parque São Jorge, in the fourth round of the Paulista Under-20 Championship. In the state, Timão accumulated three wins and a draw - 10 points, sharing the leadership of Group 1 with Ferroviária.

Probable Corinthians lineup

The only absence will be defender Iago Machado, who was called up for a period of training with the Brazilian Under-17 team, at Granja Comary, Rio de Janeiro. On the other hand, midfielder Dieguinho and striker Gui Negãpo, aged 18 and 19, respectively, who have been part of the professional team since mid-2025, can reinforce the Under-20s in the classic.
