Corinthians U20 seeks to break bad streak playing at home

Corinthians will face, during the afternoon of this Wednesday (10), Avaí, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in a duel valid for the 15th round of the classification phase of the 2026 Brazilian Under-20 Championship. Currently, the Parque São Jorge club occupies 11th place with 19 points - five wins, four draws and five defeats - 19 goals scored and 18 conceded.

In addition to the possibility of moving up the national competition table, Timãozinho seeks to break a bad streak by playing at home. The last triumph took place on February 21, when they beat Amércia-MG, by a score of 4 x 0, in the debut of the Brasileirão U20. On that occasion, Luiz Fernando 'Luizinho (twice), Lorenzo and against scored the goals for Filhos do Terrão.

Since then, the U20s have entered the field six times as hosts, accumulating one draw and five defeats. In addition, one goal was scored and another 10 conceded. Despite the poor performance at home, the Parque São Jorge club has positive numbers away from home, which has kept the team in the fight to qualify for the knockout stages of the Brasileirão in the category.

After facing Avaí, at home, in the Brasileirão U20, Corinthians will resume its focus on the Campeonato Paulista category. This is because, next Saturday (13), at 3pm (Brasília time), Alvinegro will host Portuguesa, in the second round of the first phase of the state championship. With the triumph on their debut, Timão started in sixth place in Group 1.
