Corinthians U20 extends unbeaten record away from home and seeks to repeat 2023 feat

Over the afternoon of last Friday (5), Corinthians faced Mirassol, at the Estádio Municipal Manoel Francisco Ferreira, Bálsamo, in the interior of São Paulo, in the first round of the first phase of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista, and beat the opponent by a score of 1 x 0. Filhos do Terrão's goal was scored by defender Iago Machado, in the middle of the second half.

The triumph meant that Timãozinho maintained its unbeaten record as a visitor in the 2026 season. So far, there have been seven games, valid for the Brazilian and Paulista Championships, with four wins (Grêmio, São Paulo, Cuiabá and Mirassol) and three draws (Bahia, Botafogo and Red Bull Bragantino) - 13 goals scored and seven conceded. In the count, Copa São Paulo games are not considered, as they take place on neutral grounds.

If they are not defeated in the next matches away from home, the Parque São Jorge club can equal a mark set in 2023 in the category, when they went nine matches without losing away from home in the Under-20s. On that occasion, there were five wins and four draws - 32 goals scored and only 10 conceded - check out the game details at the end of this article.

Now, the team led by coach William Batista will return to the pitch next Wednesday (10), at 3 pm (Brasília time), to face Avaí, at home, in a duel valid for the 15th round of the first phase of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. At the moment, Timão occupies 11th place with 19 points - five wins, four draws and five defeats - 19 goals scored and 18 conceded.

Only the top eight advance to the quarterfinals. Bahia is currently in eighth place, with 22 points. Away from home, Filhos do Terrão's next game will be on June 20th, Saturday, at 3pm (Brasília time), for the 17th round of the Brasileirão U20 classification phase.
