Corinthians U20 begins unprecedented winning streak in the current season

Corinthians is experiencing its best moment in the Under-20 season. Last Saturday, the black and white team defeated Portuguesa Santista 2-0, at Fazendinha, in the third round of the Campeonato Paulista, and reached an unprecedented milestone in 2026: three consecutive victories.

The sequence began on June 5th, when Timãozinho debuted in the State Championship, beating Mirassol 1-0. On that occasion, the winning goal was scored by defender Iago Machado. In the following match, valid for the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Corinthians scored a 6-2 defeat against Avaí, a result that served as the impetus for the new triumph achieved against Portuguesa Santista.

Until then, the most the team led by William Batista had achieved this season was two consecutive victories. This feat occurred at the end of April, when Timão beat Criciúma 2-1 and, in the following round, defeated São Paulo 1-0. Both games were played away from home for the category's Brasileirão.

To find the last sequence of three positive results from the Corinthians U20, it was necessary to go back to the second half of 2025. In that period, the team ended the first phase of the Campeonato Paulista by beating Jabaquara 3-2 and, soon after, started the knockout stage by beating XV de Piracicaba on two consecutive occasions: first 1-0 as a visitor and then 3-1 at Parque São Jorge.

In addition to the series of triumphs, the squad also reached another important milestone this season. The victories over Avaí and Portuguesa Santista represented the first time in 2026 that Corinthians managed to win two consecutive matches playing at Fazendinha.

The campaign in the Campeonato Paulista also remains impeccable. As they had a good time in the initial round and won both matches they have played so far, Timãozinho maintains a perfect record in the state competition.

Now, the team awaits the end of the other games of the round to know their exact position on the leaderboard. Corinthians' next challenge has already been scheduled. On Wednesday, the 17th, the team returns to play at Fazendinha to face Vitória, in a duel valid for the 16th round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. The ball is scheduled to roll at 3pm.
