Corinthians hosted, on the afternoon of last Tuesday (7), Palmeiras, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in Derby for the seventh round of the classification phase of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, and beat their arch-rival by a score of 3 x 1. The result left the Corinthians team with 13 points - four wins, one draw and two defeats - 20 goals scored and seven conceded, occupying fourth place in the national tournament. Only the top eight qualify for the quarterfinals.
Scorer of the goal that opened the scoring for Timão in the second half, midfielder Lucca Caramico spoke to the press in the mixed zone after the Derby and spoke about his individual moment. After standing out in 2025 for the U17, scoring eight goals in 36 games, the young man maintains his leading role in the category and, in the current season, has already scored nine goals in 13 matches, beating the mark acquired last year. The athlete also highlighted the work of Guilherme Nascimento who, to date, has 10 wins, two draws and only three defeats.

"Very happy for the season, for being able to score a lot of goals and especially for the team. The group came together after the last defeat and we knew that today we would come away with victory for sure. Very happy for the season, for what we've been doing, I'm sure the group will go a long way."
"The group fully embraced the idea, it's a very good job (from Guilherme Nascimento). We have a very important relationship and beyond being a coach, listening to ideas, listening to me. So his arrival is very important for us and I'm sure he will bear great fruit for us. We will come away with a title this season", he began.
Later, he highlighted the importance of beating their rival in the category again, something that had not happened since September 2024. The Barra Funda team, it is worth mentioning, had a 100% record in the national championship - leader with 18 points. He also planned Timãozinho's next match, which will be against Vasco da Gama, on Wednesday (15), at 11am (Brasília time), at the Nivaldo Pereira Stadium (RJ), for the eighth round of the competition.
"(Our expectation) is to always be at the top. Our priority is always to be among the four best, in the G4 of the Brazilian Championship and always in first place in the Paulista so that we can qualify better. Of course, there always is (I like beating Palmeiras more), but they are three more important points for us and we will continue with Vasco next Wednesday. I'm sure we will do very well there for Rio and come away with victory", he continued.
Finally, he spoke about the presence of midfielder André Luiz, revealed at Timão's base and today one of the pillars of the professional squad, Marcelo Paz (professional executive) and Osmar Stabile (president) in the Fazendinha boxes during the Derby for the national competition.
"Very important for us, because that's what we aim for, to reach the club's professional level. It's games like this that we show our potential, the potential to train there as a professional, to show Fernando Diniz that we're capable. I'm sure André is an inspiration for everyone who comes from the base, to rise quickly and be able to do what he did", he concluded
