Corinthians U-17 futsal team takes Taça Brasil trophy to president

During the afternoon of last Tuesday (9), athletes and the technical committee of the Corinthians Under-17 futsal team visited president Osmar Stabile's office, in Parque São Jorge, the club's headquarters, with the Brazilian Cup trophy for the category's sport. The title was won at the end of the last final, with a 1 x 0 victory over Jaraguá.
The president of Corinthians received the cup from captain Cauã Farias and highlighted the work that has been done in the sport. The competition, organized by the Brazilian Futsal Confederation (CBFS) was played in Espírito Santo between the 25th and 31st, and was made up of 16 clubs from different regions of the country.

Normally, teams that won the state championships of their respective federations in the previous season compete in the Taça Brasil. In the tournament, the Parque São Jorge club used, for the most part, athletes from the Under-16 team and some of the main players from the Under-18 team, who are in their first year in the category.
Throughout the Taça Brasil, Corinthians achieved 100% success. In the first phase, they beat Limoeiro, from Ceará, 3 x 0, AJJR Futsal, from the Federal District, by a score of 7 x 2, in addition to beating Goiorê, from Paraná, by 5 x 1. In turn, in the semi-final, they were unaware of Craque 10, from Paraíba, winning 7 x 2. In the decision, they beat Jaraguá by a score of 1 x 0.
Timão's main athlete in the competition was winger Arthur Azevedo who, in addition to scoring the goal in the final, found the net on six other occasions and ended the competition as the top scorer. In 2023, it is worth remembering, Alvinegro had already won the Taça Brasil, beating Vasco da Gama, 4 x 3, on penalties, in the decision.
