Corinthians takes a stand and regrets threats to the family of the president of Ceará
- By Fabio Luigi / Central do Timão Editorial
On the morning of this Friday (26), Corinthians published an official note on their social networks expressing solidarity with the president of Ceará, João Paulo Silva, regretting and repudiating the acts of threats carried out against his family. The director has been the target of attacks due to the bad form of the northeastern team, one of which was the sending of a bomb aimed at his family during a theater class.
Last Thursday (25), the president published a reflection on the situation on his communication channels and also revealed that his daughter ended up having a panic attack when she came across a bomb. João Paulo further detailed that, in addition to the artifact, the package received by the child contained a letter, mixed with flowers and chocolates, containing serious threats.

According to UOL Esporte, Military and Civil Police are investigating who was responsible for sending the explosive. So far, they have not been identified. Ceará, as mentioned, is not going through a good moment. In recent days, fans have held protests in front of the club's headquarters in Porangabaçu and, in one of the demonstrations, the security authorities used stun bombs.
Some videos of the confusion ended up generating repercussions on social media, one of them with requests from fans requesting an end to the police action, as many children were present at the scene at that time. Ceará is in the bottom half of the Series B table and, in the last few hours, announced Daniel Paulista as the new coach, replacing Mozart.

Check out Corinthians' official note about the episode below:
"Sport Club Corinthians Paulista publicly expresses its deep repudiation of the act of violence committed against the family of João Paulo Silva, president of Ceará Sporting Club. Corinthians reaffirms that violence and sport do not mix and that episodes like this are unacceptable. We express our solidarity with João Paulo Silva and his entire family."

I come, with deep regret and indignation, to express, on behalf of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, our most vehement repudiation of the serious acts of violence and intimidation perpetrated against the president of Ceará Sporting Club, Mr. João Paulo Silva, as well as against his family.
It is inconceivable and absolutely unacceptable that disagreements, demands or any issues related to sports can exceed the limits of civility and mutual respect. Football, which is a passion that unites millions of hearts, can never be tarnished by acts that undermine the physical and emotional integrity of the people involved.
At this time, we express our solidarity with President João Paulo Silva and his loved ones, wishing them strength and serenity to overcome this regrettable situation. We reiterate that sport must always be an environment where passion coexists with respect, where competition is healthy and where any form of threat, violence or intimidation is absolutely ruled out.
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is available to promote the dialogue and reflection necessary so that episodes like this never happen again, reaffirming our commitment to ethics and dignity in Brazilian football.
Sincerely,
Osmar Stabile
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista
