Corinthians starts the game behind and snatches a draw from São Caetano at Paulistão U17

This Saturday morning, Corinthians took to the field against São Caetano for the seventh round of the Paulista Under-17 Championship. With the game played at the Anacleto Campanella Stadium, Timão started the match losing 2-0, but, with goals from Rhyan Ladeira and Guarnieri, the Parque São Jorge team tied the match 2-2.

Corinthians, who started the match with an alternative team, conceded the first goal 11 minutes into the game. After the opening of the scoring, the home team closed down in defense and Timão began to encounter even more difficulties in attack. The Parque São Jorge team only had an improvement in the offensive sector after conceding the second goal, because they began to put pressure on the opposing defense and, with a bicycle finish from Rhyan Ladeira, discounted the result and went to half-time losing 2-1.

Timão came back better in the second half and managed to tie the match before the first ten minutes of the game, with a goal from Guarnieri. After the draw, the Parque São Jorge club continued to put pressure on the home defense, even after losing Piracicaba, sent off for a second yellow card. Despite Corinthians efforts, the team was unable to turn the score around and ended the game tied with São Caetano 2-2.

With the result, Corinthians, who were fighting with Imbrachina FC for first place in Group 12, lost the chance to compete for the lead. Currently in second place, tied with Juventus SAF, Timão depends on a draw or defeat of its rival to remain in position.
