Corinthians sees Talleres extend the deadline for paying Rodrigo Garro

The soap opera between Corinthians and Talleres over payment for the signing of Rodrigo Garro is close to an end. After extended deadlines and drawn-out negotiations, the two boards signed a new document last Thursday afternoon (11) to settle the 7 million dollars (R$ 35 million).

According to people present at the negotiation, Corinthians now has five business days to make the payment, after registering the documents. Therefore, Osmar Stabile's board has until June 16, Tuesday, to pay off the amounts owed since January 2024. The news was released by ESPN and confirmed by CNN.

What influenced Talleres' change in stance in relation to the amount owed by Timão was how Osmar Stabile and the black and white board treated the debt, as CNN learned. The president of Corinthians went to Argentina to meet Andrés Fassi, president of La T, to find solutions regarding the amount owed.

In addition, both boards had to give in for the agreement to be closed. Talleres, for example, has already thought about receiving the entire amount in cash, while Corinthians has always wanted to pay the amount in installments.

In case of non-compliance by Corinthians, the Argentine club must charge Corinthians at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Parque São Jorge club must receive another transfer ban.

It is worth remembering that Corinthians is prevented from registering players due to the non-payment of debt by José Martínez, with the Philadelphia Union, from the United States.

Rodrigo Garro arrived at Corinthians in 2024 and, with the club, won three titles: the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil, in 2025, and the Supercopa do Brasil, in 2026.
