Following the repercussions of statements by Flávio Flora, father of 12-year-old Lucas Flora, who announced the athlete's departure from Corinthians' youth ranks in a statement sent to ESPN, the club officially spoke out this Wednesday (3) to contest the allegations presented by the family.

In an official statement, Corinthians stated that they had received with surprise the statements made by the player's father, considered one of the main promises of the Under-12 team. The club denied that it had failed to register the athlete with the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) by its own decision and attributed the delay to pending documents that were the responsibility of the player's representatives.

According to Alvinegro, the necessary documentation for registration was only sent on February 25th of this year, more than two months after the first request made by the Athlete Training Department. Still according to the club, the requests were reinforced on several occasions, on the 2nd, 9th, 17th and 30th of January, as well as on the 4th of February, without any response from the family.

Corinthians also highlighted that the athlete's registration with the FPF depends on the signing of the registration form by the parents or guardians, a procedure that, according to the note, has not been completed to date.

Another point contested by the club concerns the allegation that it had demanded the termination of the player's image rights contract. The board stated that this information does not correspond to the facts and denied having made any demand in this regard.

In addition, Corinthians reported having become aware that Flávio Flora maintained contacts with at least two Brazilian football Series A teams without prior authorization from the black and white club, despite the existence of a contractual link in force between the parties.

The note also points out that Lucas Flora has not attended training for over a month and that no formal justification has been presented to the responsible department. Even in this scenario, the club claims to have maintained full compliance with the obligations set out in the contract, in an attempt to build a consensual solution that would preserve the interests of everyone involved, especially those of the athlete.

In this way, Corinthians claims that the decision to end the contractual relationship came from the player's own family, and not from the club.

Finally, Corinthians informed that it intends to adopt the appropriate measures to protect its contractual rights. The statement highlights that, if the family confirms the termination of the image rights contract, the club will seek to guarantee compliance with the agreed clauses, including in relation to the values set out in the agreement.

The position was released hours after Lucas Flora's family justified the young athlete's departure alleging deterioration in the relationship with the club, including supposed internal uncertainty, lack of opportunities and situations that would have been interpreted as neglect during his time in the black and white youth categories.
