Corinthians Quartet is called up for the Brazilian Under-17 Team's preparation period for the World Cup

Coach Rilany Silva announced, this Tuesday (30), the list of 28 athletes called up for the first period of preparation for the Brazilian Under-17 Women's Team for the category's World Cup, which will be played between the months of October and November, in Morocco. Corinthians will be one of the clubs with the greatest representation in the squad, with four players called up.
The Brabinhas called up are goalkeeper Nathália Cardoso, defender Kaillany Ranifah and midfielders Carol Melo and Pepê. The athletes will perform on July 6th, at CT Dartanhã, in Guararema (SP), where they will participate in the preparation until the 16th. During the period, the team will hold a training game against the Santos women's team, scheduled for July 11th.

Quartet represents the black and white base
Among those called up, Pepê arrives as one of the main names in the category at Corinthians. The midfielder has scored 24 goals in 43 matches for the Under-17s and has also played eight games for the Under-20s this season.
Carol Melo is also experiencing an integration process between the youth teams. The midfielder played nine matches for the Under-20s in 2026, scored one goal and has also played 28 games and six goals for the Under-17s since arriving at the club.
In defense, Kaillany Ranifah remains established as one of the main defenders of the black and white base. The athlete has seven appearances for the Under-20s this season and has 23 games, two goals and one title for the Under-17s, a category in which she continues to be one of the squad's references.
Closing the Corinthians list is goalkeeper Nathália Cardoso. At just 15 years old, the archer received another opportunity in the Brazilian National Team after starting her career at Corinthians' academy, where she has already played five games for the Under-17s.
When announcing the call-up, Rilany Silva explained that the objective of this first cycle is to raise the level of training and integrate new athletes into the group before competing in the World Cup.
"For this training period, our objective is to raise the level of training, make the new players assimilate the content as quickly as possible and then test them against Santos, at a competitive level close to what the World Cup could be."
The coach also highlighted that the group maintains the base of the South American champion team, but makes room for new athletes to be observed during preparation.
"We don't have much time or margin to test new players, so we kept a base, with those who went to the South American, and 11 names who didn't go, and of these, seven are really new. They are athletes to challenge and test."
This will be the first of two preparation periods planned by the technical committee before the World Cup. After training in July, the team will meet again at the end of September for the final stage of work, before leaving for Morocco.
In the draw for the U-17 Women's World Cup, Brazil was placed in Group C, alongside Canada, Norway and a team yet to be defined by the African Qualifiers.
Rilany believes that, despite the renewal of the squad, the team is capable of repeating or even surpassing the historic campaign carried out in 2025, when Brazil finished in fourth place, its best result in the history of the competition.
"Last year, the team was more experienced and had already experienced the previous World Cup. Now we have athletes who have never competed in a World Cup, but it is a qualified group with a very strong competitive mentality. We hope to have equal or greater protagonism and influence than last year. We already know the competition and we know what it demands mentally, physically and tactically."
With four representatives in the squad, Corinthians reinforces the protagonism of its youth category on the national stage and will have athletes participating in the preparation of the Brazilian team for the category's main competition in 2026.
