Corinthians profit from the sale of Éderson to Manchester United

Defender Éderson was chosen by Manchester United to replace Casemiro in the team's midfield. After becoming a standout at Atalanta, the former Corinthians player was bought by the Red Devils for around 40.5 million euros from the Italian club, and Timão guaranteed a profit from the athlete's negotiation.

According to information from TMC, Alvinegro is entitled to 1% of the value of the deal because the athlete played for the club from 20 to 22 years of age, thus, the percentage is guaranteed by FIFA's solidarity mechanism. The Parque São Jorge club will receive around R$2.36 million for the transfer.

Signed by Corinthians in 2020, after leaving Cruzeiro, Éderson played 25 games and scored three goals with the black and white shirt. In 2021, the player was loaned to Fortaleza, stood out, and in 2022 was sold to Salernitana, from Italy, for around 6.5 million euros (approximately R$39 million at the time). Clubs such as Cruzeiro and Desportivo Brasil, where the midfielder also played at the base, will also receive amounts for the negotiation.

Since his arrival in Italian football, Éderson attracted attention and became popular with fans. Fundamental in the final stretch of the 2021/22 season for Salernitana, the player played 15 games, scored 1 goal and provided two assists, but helped the club escape relegation before transferring to Atalanta. In the Bergamo team, he was a starter in winning the Europa League in the 2023/24 season, played in 180 games, scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists.
