During the afternoon of this Thursday (11), Mexico and South Africa faced each other at the Azteca Stadium to open the 2026 World Cup and the Mexicans won by the score of 2 x 1, starting at the top of Group A. Off the field, the match had an illustrious presence in the stands: midfielder André Carrillo, from Corinthians.

On his social networks, the 34-year-old athlete made some records and even ventured into the musical sphere by singing the song Oye Mi Amor, by the Mexican group Maná, who even performed on the pitch before the start of the match. André Carrillo, it is worth remembering, had the opportunity to compete in the World Cup, but the Peruvian team had a bad campaign in the South American Qualifiers, finishing only in second place, and now, under the command of Mano Menezes, they are planning to complete the next edition of the biggest national team tournament in the world.

Corinthians' number 19 also made a joke associated with arch-rival Palmeiras. The midfielder was wearing a white (alternative) Mexico shirt and joked that, if he wore the green Mexican shirt, the Corinthians fans wouldn't like it.
