Corinthians Memorial receives visits from visually impaired children

Last Wednesday (1st), Corinthians promoted another social responsibility action at Parque São Jorge. Through the Cultural Department, the club welcomed children attended by Laramara - Brazilian Association for Assistance to People with Visual Impairments - for a socio-educational visit focused on history and black-and-white culture.

The activity was part of the Time do Povo project and brought together 45 participants. During the visit, the children visited the club's historic spaces through an adapted experience, with sensory and tactile stimuli, allowing contact with elements that are part of Corinthians' history.

In a post on social media, the Cultural Department highlighted that the initiative seeks to bring the community closer to Corinthians memory in an accessible way, reinforcing the club's commitment to inclusion and social responsibility actions.

Founded on September 7, 1991, Laramara arose from the story of Lara, daughter of Mara and Victor Siaulys, diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity. The family's search for treatment and rehabilitation led the couple to deepen their studies on visual impairment and, later, create an institution specializing in the care and inclusion of people with visual impairment.

The name of the entity is formed by the union of the names Lara and Mara. Initially focused on serving children up to the age of seven, Laramara expanded its operations over the years, starting to develop programs aimed at young people and adults, focusing on education, preparation for the job market, arts, culture and autonomy.

The institution was also a pioneer in Brazil in the manufacture of the Braille machine and the long cane, fundamental equipment for the education and rehabilitation of people with visual impairments. In addition, it maintains partnerships with companies and public agencies to distribute these resources to families in different regions of the country.

The visit to Parque São Jorge was part of this inclusion work, providing children with an accessible way to learn about the history of Corinthians.
