Corinthians meet opponent for the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão U20

On the afternoon of this Wednesday (1), Corinthians faced Juventude, at CFAC, Caxias do Sul, in a match valid for the 19th and final round of the first phase of the 2026 Brazilian Under-20 Championship, and lost by the score of 1 x 0. Despite the defeat, Timãozinho won the place in the quarter-finals of the national tournament, placing eighth with 29 points - eight wins, five draws and six defeats - 31 goals scored and 25 conceded.

In the knockout stage, the Parque São Jorge club will face Palmeiras, who were the overall leader in the first part of the competition with 44 points, 13 wins, five draws and just one defeat - 54 goals scored and 23 conceded. In the classification phase, both teams faced each other at Fazendinha and Filhos do Terrão ended up being beaten 1 x 0.

In the next few hours, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is expected to release the dates and times of the two quarter-final games. The base dates for the Derbys are July 8th and 15th. The first game will be at Parque São Jorge and the second at the rival's home, which has a superior campaign in the category's Brasileirão.

If they qualify, Timão will face Red Bull Bragantino (fourth) or Athletico-PR (fifth) in the semifinals. The other quarter-final games will be between Vasco da Gama (second) x Cruzeiro (seventh) and Botafogo (third) x Santos FC (sixth). Next Sunday (5), at 11 am (Brasília time), Timãozinho takes the field to face Sertãozinho, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in the fourth round of the state championship. In the first three rounds, Alvinegro recorded two wins and a draw - three goals scored and zero conceded, occupying fifth place in Group 1.
