To advance to the quarterfinals of the Brasileirão U20, something that hasn't happened since 2023, Alvinegro needed to win by any score so as not to depend on other results. But as they were defeated, Flamengo stumbled, drawing with Avaí, and thus guaranteed a place in the knockout stages.

Coach William Batista sent a starting lineup to the field with Matheus, Pellegrin, Iago Machado, Yago Melo and Joãozinho; Pedro Thomas, Bahia, Gui Amorim and Caraguá; Luizinho and Luiz Favela. Pietro, João Vitor, Lorenzo, Christian, Levy Dias, Dodô, Pires, Cristian, Gustavo Correa, Luiz Eduardo, Nicolas and Araújo were available on the reserve bench.

The Juventude team was selected with Leo Agliardi, Marco Anthonio, Kauã Costa, Maiquel and Henzo; Kaynan, Nicolas Begliardi and Beto; Scatolin, Carlinhos and Nathan.

The match

In a game under rain, Corinthians found it difficult to create plays and came up behind the scoreboard. The home team's goal was scored in the 16th minute of the first half. After a corner, Nathan went up with Joãozinho and got the header, the ball even touched goalkeeper Matheus, deflected off the defense and then went into the goal.

Trying to respond quickly, Timão sent a ball to the post in the 23rd minute, but goalkeeper Léo Agliardi caught it on the rebound. The Jaconero goalkeeper was the one who saved the black and white draw in the last play of the first stage, after a dangerous corner from the São Paulo team.

In the second half, Corinthians pressed for most of the stage and created the main opportunities, but came up against Juventude's lack of aim and defense. Timão accumulated corners, balls thrown into the area and a sequence of blocked shots, in addition to wasting their best chance in the 34th minute, when Favela dominated the area and shot wide. Juventude tried to respond with counterattacks, forcing Matheus to make a good save from Carlinhos' shot, but they also had difficulty transforming the arrivals into real danger. With several substitutions and few clear chances converted, the second half ended with Corinthians territorial dominance, but with no efficiency in finishing.
