Corinthians is tied with Santo André in the eighth round of the National Futsal League

Corinthians returned to the court in the National Futsal League on Monday night and tied 3-3 against Santo André. The confrontation, valid for the eighth round of the competition, took place at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, in Parque São Jorge. The Corinthians goals were scored by Lucas Martins, Maicon and Renatinho.

For the match, Fernando Malafaia opted to return the team's starting base. Thus, Timão started the duel with Lucas Oliveira, Lucas Martins, Renatinho, Maicon and Rick on the line. Among the options available on the bench were Kelvin, Caio Barros, Papagaio, Paiva, Da Bonja, Igor Bredof, Vini Dias, Fabinho and Davi. The visiting team started the match with Eric, Mancine, Xaropinho, Betinho and Bob.

During the first stage, Corinthians controlled most of the offensive actions and created several scoring opportunities. However, the team found it difficult to transform game volume into shooting efficiency. Furthermore, defensive failures ended up being decisive, while goalkeeper Eric had an outstanding performance and helped Santo André go into the break with an advantage on the scoreboard.

After the teams returned for the second half, the game gained even more intensity. The black and white draw left the match open, causing both sides to constantly look for an attack. Even though they finished more often and pressed for much of the period, Corinthians were unable to convert the chances created into a comeback.

With equality on the scoreboard, Timão continues without finding its way back to victories in the LNF. The team reached five points and occupies 13th place on the leaderboard. It is worth remembering that only the top four finishers guarantee a direct place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Now, Corinthians' focus turns to the LNF Cup. The next challenge is scheduled for this Saturday, when the club faces São Lourenço, at 2pm, at Arena São Lourenço, in Santa Catarina.
