Corinthians intends to move forward with negotiations to renew the contract of attacking midfielder Kayke after the squad's vacation period, during the World Cup break. The 22-year-old player is recovering from an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee and is not expected to return to the pitch this season.
According to initial information from Rádio Itatiaia, the club would have signed a new relationship with the athlete's staff. The Timão Center found that the situation is not defined in the terms disclosed, but confirmed that there is Corinthians' intention to renew the player's contract, mainly to provide security for the recovery process from the injury.

Kayke's current contract with Corinthians is valid until June 2027. The player's last renewal took place in June 2024, when the club extended the contract of the athlete trained in the youth categories.
Kayke's situation gained new contours after the arrival of Fernando Diniz as Corinthians' technical command. Previously little used by Dorival Júnior, the attacking midfielder started to receive more opportunities under the new coach and participated in five matches, all as a starter.
With Diniz, Kayke scored Corinthians' first goal in the 2026 edition of the Copa Libertadores, in the clash against Platense, away from home. The player had been used by the coaching staff until he suffered an injury to his left knee during the match against Barra-SC, in the fifth phase of the Copa do Brasil.
Kayke's absence represents a loss for the Corinthians squad, which is currently prevented from registering new players due to the transfer ban. Given this scenario, the board seeks to preserve and value athletes considered important to the club's sporting planning.
In addition to Kayke, Corinthians is also working to retain other players with potential for growth, such as midfielder Gui Amorim, a standout from the youth teams.
Kayke's numbers for Corinthians
The player has played 26 games for the black and white team, 11 as a starter, he has scored two goals and one assist. When he was active, he participated in 10 wins, 12 draws and four defeats.
Even though he is currently sidelined, Kayke continues to be treated internally as an important athlete for the Corinthians project. The expectation is that conversations for renewal will advance during the cast's reintroduction after the rest period.
