Corinthians has a player sent off and holds a draw against São Paulo in the Under-17 Brasileirão

Corinthians drew 1-1 with São Paulo on the afternoon of this round of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. The classic, valid for the second round of the national competition, was played at the Canindé Stadium. The Corinthian goal was scored by Léo Rodrigues.

For the confrontation, coach Guilherme Nascimento selected the following starting lineup: Rafael Alencar; Kevin Fernando, Estevão Balarin, Ronaldo Henrique and Wendel; Ji-Paraná, Lucca Caramico and Léo Amitá; Matheus Rocha, Léo Rodrigues and Miguel Moscardo. Among the athletes who started the match as an option on the bench were Thiago Amaral, Brenno Augusto, Felipe Aguirra, Nathan William, Rafael Guarnieri, Rhyan, Thiago Coelho, Luan Banhado, Gabriel Cordeiro, Piracicaba, Lucas Lopes and Gustavo Sales.

São Paulo started the classic with João Soato; João Bispo, Kauã Daniel, Miranda and Luan; Caio, Kauã Edmar and Robert; Aguilar, Zabarelli and Nicolas Francisco.

The duel started evenly, with both teams looking to attack and create opportunities. Those who came out ahead were Corinthians, who opened the scoring with Léo Rodrigues. São Paulo's response came before the break, when Zabarelli converted a penalty kick and left everything the same. In the same move, Kevin Fernando received a red card and left Timãozinho with one player less.

Even with numerical inferiority, the black and white team managed to organize itself defensively and avoided further attacks from the opponent until the end of the first stage.

In the second half, São Paulo took greater control of ball possession and started to press in search of a turnaround. Goalkeeper Rafael Alencar played an important role in making decisive interventions, especially in shots from Hiago and Luan.

With ten players on the field, Corinthians sought to exploit the spaces left by their rival in counterattacks, but found it difficult to transform offensive transitions into clear scoring chances.

Timãozinho's consistent defensive posture was decisive in securing the result. Despite the opposing pressure during much of the final stage, the team managed to maintain the draw until the final whistle.

With the point achieved, Corinthians reaches four points in the first two rounds of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship and temporarily takes the lead in the competition, awaiting the conclusion of the other games of the round.

The category's next commitment will be for the Paulista Under-17 Championship. This Saturday, at 11am, Timãozinho hosts the Olympic Center at Ninho do Corvo, in Guarulhos.
