The Brazilian Under-17 team began its series of friendly preparations for the category's World Cup with a victory. On Sunday afternoon (7), Brazil defeated the United States 4 x 0, at Arena das Dunas, in Natal, and had the participation of Corinthians goalkeeper Gustavo Milani among the starters.

Representing Corinthians in the squad, the 17-year-old archer was chosen by coach Carlos Eduardo Patetuci to start the match. The Brazilian team was selected with Gustavo Milani; Marcos Pesseti, Guilherme Lira, Talles Beni and Richard Wendel; Andrey, Eduardo Pape and Vinícius Almeida; Kauê Furquim, Riquelme and Rodrigo Júnior.

During the confrontation, the Seleção had ample control of the actions and suffered little defensively, which meant that Gustavo Milani was little required throughout the 90 minutes.

The scoring was opened in the first half with Rodrigo Júnior, who took a risk from outside the area and counted on a mistake from the opposing goalkeeper to put Brazil ahead. Shortly afterwards, Talles Beni took advantage of a free kick inside the area after a corner kick to expand.

In the complementary stage, former Corinthians Kauê Furquim scored the third Brazilian goal with a free kick. In the final minutes, Eduardo Pape completed the rout and defined the result in Natal.

In addition to Gustavo Milani, another Corinthians athlete was called up for friendlies. Defender Iago Machado, a highlight of the club's youth teams, was part of the Seleção's initial list. However, an edema detected by the black and white medical department led to his recall before the presentation. The situation is not a concern for the rest of the season.

Brazil and the United States will face each other again next Wednesday (10), again at Arena das Dunas, at 8pm (Brasília time). The friendlies mark the team's first matches since winning third place in the South American Under-17 Championship.

The preparation is part of the Brazilian Football Confederation's (CBF) planning for the U-17 World Cup, which will be played between November 19th and December 13th, in Qatar. In the group stage of the tournament, the Brazilian team will face Ireland, Tanzania and Costa Rica.
