Corinthians goalkeeper anticipates return from loan and plans to move to Italian football

Goalkeeper Rafael Juwer, from the Corinthians academy, is moving to Italian football. The information was collected, exclusively, by Central do Timão. The young man, who was on loan at Criciúma, in Santa Catarina, until the end of the 2027 São Paulo Junior Football Cup, anticipated his return to Parque São Jorge and is headed to Cavese, which competes in Italy's third division.

The report also found that Timão will maintain 20% of the archer's economic rights with an eye on a possible sale. His contract with Corinthians was valid until March 1, 2027. Rafael Juwer arrived at the Parque São Jorge club in 2022 to reinforce the Under-14 category. In 2024, he was promoted to the U-17, but ended up not being used as much - he only played seven games in total, as the holder of the position was Arthur Borghi, who also recently left Alvinegro to move to Hellas Verona, in Italy.

According to numbers from the Ogol website, Rafael Juwer entered the field just once for Criciúma's U20 team. In 2025, the archer was used by Corinthians in Paulista and Brazilian Championship matches in the Under-17 category at a time when the starters were competing in the Andalusia Tournament, in Spain. Raphael Laruccia's men ended up eliminated by Barcelona, from Spain, in the quarter-finals, on penalties, after a 2-2 draw in normal time.

Before being loaned to the Santa Catarina team, Juwer, born in 2008, was loaned to Roma, in Italy, between mid-2024 and 2025. However, the goalkeeper had returned to Corinthians at the beginning of July last year after the Italians chose not to exercise the purchase option which, at the time, was stipulated at 120 thousand euros (R$ 700 thousand), as reported by Meu Timão on occasion.

Currently, Corinthians' Under-17 category has the following options for the goal: Gustavo Milani (2009), Matheus Alemão (2010) and Rafael Alencar (2010).
