During the afternoon of last Tuesday (30), Corinthians faced Wimpro Guarulhos, at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, Parque São Jorge, in their seventh match of the 2026 Paulista Futsal Championship, and won by the score of 5 x 1. The result made Timão jump to second place in the tournament with 19 points - six wins and one defeat - with 25 goals scored and five suffered. The Liga Sancaetanense leads the competition with the same score, but with a higher balance (23 against 20).
Scorer of one of Alvinegro's goals, pivot Rick reached his ninth goal in 24 games this season and surpassed the number of balls in the net in 2025 - he was hired in June last year after playing for Osijek Kandit, from Croatia. He is the sport's second top scorer this year, second only to the young winger Maicon, who has scored 10 goals in 21 games played.

Last year, Rick played an important role in winning the Torneo Internacional Mucho Más, in Spain, and was one of Corinthians' highlights in the runner-up campaign of the National League (LNF) and Paulistão. During last season, he scored eight goals in 36 games. In total, there are 17 goals and four assists in 60 games, with 32 wins, nine draws and 19 defeats - 58.33% success rate.
This year, even with the good campaign in the state, Alvinegro is at the bottom of the LNF table, due to the reduction in costs in the department, generated by the club's serious financial crisis, promoted by the board of president Osmar Stabile. In the LNF Cup, played between teams from the futsal elite division and the LNF Silver (second division), for example, the Parque São Jorge club was eliminated in the round of 16 after losing to São Lourenço by the score of 4 x 1.
From 2025 to 2026, the Corinthians team underwent a major overhaul, signing just three players (Fabinho, OitoMeia and Kelvin - the latter has already left the club) and started using, for the most part, athletes from the youth teams - more than 60% of the squad.
Corinthians returns to the courts this Saturday, at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), to face Umuarama, from Paraná, at Ginásio Amario Vieira da Costa, in the 11th round of the National Futsal League (LNF). At the moment, Timão occupies only 13th place - out of 16 teams - in the national competition, with two wins, two draws and six defeats - 16 goals scored and 24 conceded.
