Corinthians extends negative sequence in the National Futsal League

On Monday night (8), Corinthians hosted Santo André, at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, in a match valid for the eighth round of the classification phase of the National Futsal League (LNF), and ended up drawing 3 x 3. Alvinegro's goals were scored by Lucas Martins, Maicon and Renatinho. The result meant that the Corinthians team remained in 13th place with five points - one win, two draws and five defeats - 11 goals scored and 20 conceded.

In addition, the Parque São Jorge club also failed to break a negative streak without winning in the national competition. The last triumph took place on April 3, when they beat arch-rival Magnus, by a score of 2 x 0, at Parque São Jorge, in the second round. Since then, there have been four defeats (Carlos Barbosa, Jaraguá, Praia Clube and Atlântico) and two draws (Cascavel and Santo André) - eight goals scored and 13 conceded.

After the match, winger Renatinho gave an interview to Xsports and analyzed the negative result of the match, highlighting that the objective was three points. Timão lost by two goals to zero, drew, turned around and again sought equality at the end of the match: "The situation we find ourselves in today in the table does not suit Corinthians' shirt, with this group. We are working hard to get out of this situation. Today was a very important game for us to get the three points at home, against the team that is competing with us there for the last positions in the League."

"So it's a bad result even if we were 2-0 at home and trying to get a bad result, we planned for the three points, we worked for the three points, it wasn't enough. But now, it's about getting together, working more and more and more so that we can get out of the zone quickly, from the last positions in the qualifying phase, so that we can put Corinthians where they deserve", he said.

After drawing with Santo André, at home, in the National League, Corinthians turns its attention to another commitment away from home. The black and white team faces São Lourenço on Saturday (13), at 2pm (Brasília time), at CEIM (Ginásio Poliesportivo do Centro de Educação Infantil Municipal), in Santa Catarina, in the ninth round of the first phase of the LNF.
