Corinthians do their first training session after returning from vacation; steering wheel comments

This Thursday (25), at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, Corinthians players returned to their activities with an eye on the season, which will feature the second round of the Brasileirão, in addition to the knockout stages of the Copa do Brasil and Conmebol Libertadores. Timão had almost a month off since the last time they took to the field, on May 30th, in a triumph over Grêmio, away from home, in the Brazilian Championship.

The Corinthians squad started the day in the Flexform Lecture Room. There, football executive Marcelo Paz and coach Fernando Diniz had a conversation with the athletes. Later, after an activation in the gym, the players went to the pitch, where they carried out four-station work: possession of the ball, intermittent running with changes of direction, submissions and interval running. The coaching staff also promoted a dynamic of attack against defense with transition.

In an interview with Corinthians TV, midfielder Raniele spoke about returning to work and the importance of the rest period. It is worth remembering that, in 2025, Alvinegro, together with Vasco da Gama, had their calendar extended due to the final of the Copa do Brasil, which took place on December 21st. In the first week of January, the athletes were back at the CT to prepare for the start of Paulistão 2026.

"This first activity was one of adaptation. It was important to have this break to take a break. We were without a longer period of vacation due to the Copa do Brasil title at the end of the year. Our expectations are the best. I hope that we use this period in the best way. During the championships we already had a lot of work, imagine now. It will be an important time. We understand that this moment is to pull the strings a little so that we can arrive physically and tactically well for the rest of the season. May the entire group be able to take advantage and enjoy of this time", he said.

Three athletes were not in the squad's re-presentation: striker Memphis Depay (playing in the World Cup with the Netherlands), midfielder André Carrillo (will only be re-presented on the 29th, as during the Timão squad's break, he defended the Peru team in two friendlies) and midfielder Jesse Lingard (problems on the flight back from England).

Officially, the Parque São Jorge club will only return to the pitch on July 23rd, at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), when they will face Remo, at Neo Química Arena, in the last round of the first round of the Brasileirão. Before that, however, they will play a friendly against FC Cascavel, at the Estádio Municipal Arnaldo Busato, in Cascavel, Paraná, at 4pm, on July 12th.
