Gustavo Henrique ended the Libertadores group stage with a number that put him in the spotlight among all participants in the tournament. According to data released by Conmebol last Monday, the Corinthians defender was the athlete with the best passing accuracy rate during the initial stage of the continental competition.

The South American entity highlighted the feat on its social networks. "With Avianca, connection is key! Gustavo Henrique, from Corinthians, the most effective player after the Conmebol Libertadores Group Stage", published the championship's official profile.

Over the six matches played by Timão in the group stage, the defender had an impressive 93% pass success rate. In total, he made 337 attempts and had only 26 errors recorded in official statistics.

In addition to the quality in the construction of plays, Gustavo Henrique also drew attention for his offensive contribution. The number 13 is among the Corinthians' top scorers in the current edition of the Libertadores, with four goals scored, occupying a prominent position on the team's list of top scorers in the competition.

The individual performance follows the consistent defensive campaign built by Corinthians in the tournament. During the first phase, the club conceded just four goals, finishing among the least leaked teams in the Libertadores.

Only four teams had better defensive numbers. Rosario Central finished the group stage with just one goal conceded, while Cerro Porteño and Flamengo were conceded twice each. Cruzeiro appears just ahead of Corinthians, with three goals conceded.

With the interruption of the World Cup calendar, Gustavo Henrique and the other athletes in the squad began their rest period. The group will remain without playing official matches for more than 50 days.

Resubmission for commitments worth points will only occur at the end of July. The first challenge after the break will be against Remo, at the Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship.
