Corinthians beat Tubarão and break the winning streak in the National Futsal League

Corinthians smiled again in the National Futsal League. On Saturday night, Timão defeated Tubarão 3-1, at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, in a match valid for the tenth round of the competition. The black and white team's goals were scored by Paiva, twice, and Igor Bredof.

For the duel, coach Fernando Malafaia started the match with Lucas Oliveira in goal, in addition to Lucas Martins, Renatinho, Paiva and Rick among the starters. On the bench, the coach had Kelvin, Caio Barros, Papagaio, Da Bonja, Igor Bredof, Maicon, Kaio Lopes and Davi as options. Tubarão, in turn, entered the court with Gustavo; Iuri, João Rigotti, Evandro and Bruno in the initial formation.

The first half was marked by Corinthians dominance. Despite the visitors creating the first clear opportunity of the match and coming up against a good defense by Lucas Oliveira, Timão took control of the actions and opened the scoring with Paiva, who took advantage of an assist from Lucas Martins.

The team from Santa Catarina managed to react and reached a draw through Pablo. However, it didn't take long for Corinthians to regain the lead. Igor Bredof scored the second black goal and, shortly before the break, Paiva found the net again, scoring his second goal of the match and leaving the score at 3-1.

In the complementary stage, Corinthians remained superior and created the best opportunities to extend the advantage. Maicon and Paiva came close to scoring in the first few minutes, but faced good interventions from goalkeeper Gustavo.

Needing to get the result, Tubarão bet on the goalkeeper's strategy in the final minutes and increased its offensive presence. The pressure, however, was neutralized by Timão's good defensive organization and Lucas Oliveira's new defenses.

With no worries in the decisive stretch, Corinthians managed the advantage built in the first half and confirmed an important victory in front of their fans.

With the three points, Fernando Malafaia's team momentarily rose to 12th place in the table, entering the classification zone for the playoffs of the National Futsal League. The result also ended a run of seven matches without a win in the competition and removed the club from the playoff race against relegation.

Timão's next commitment will be for the A1 Paulista Futsal Championship. On Tuesday, the 30th, at 8pm, Corinthians returns to Ginásio Wlamir Marques to face Wimpro Guarulhos.
