Corinthians beat Palmeiras again in the Under-17s and improve their recent record against their rival

During the afternoon of this Tuesday (7), Corinthians took the field at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, to face Palmeiras, in a match valid for the seventh round of the 2026 Brazilian Under-17 Championship, and beat their biggest rival by the score of 3 x 1. With the three points, Timão reached 13 points, remaining in fourth place - 20 goals scored and seven conceded.

The triumph made Filhos do Terrão beat their archrival again for the first time since September 2024. On that occasion, with a goal from attacking midfielder Lucas Molina, Alvinegro won 1 x 0, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Paulista Championship in the category. In the second game, the Barra Funda team returned the score, but ended up being eliminated by Timão on penalties.

Last year, the teams faced each other on just one occasion, precisely for the category's Brasileirão, and Palmeiras emerged victorious 3 x 2. On that occasion, the two teams entered the field with alternative teams, as both were involved in the Andalusia Tournament, in Spain, in which Timão was eliminated by Barcelona, on penalties, after a 2 x 2 draw in normal time.

According to figures from Meu Timão, since 2017, there have been 14 games between Corinthians and Palmeiras, with four Corinthians winning, one draw and nine defeats - 17 goals scored and 26 conceded. Alvinegro will now remain focused on the national tournament. This is because, next Wednesday (15), at 11am (Brasília time), Timão will visit Vasco da Gama, at the Nivaldo Pereira Stadium (RJ), for the eighth round of the competition.
