With a tradition in the formation and passing of big names in world football, Corinthians is among the Brazilian clubs that have had the most athletes finding the net in editions of the World Cup. A survey released by GE places Timão in fifth place in the national ranking, with 13 goals scored by five different players while defending the Parque São Jorge club.
The first black and white representative on the list was Baltazar. An idol of Corinthians in the 1940s and 1950s, the striker scored two goals in the 1950 World Cup, against Mexico and Switzerland, and left his mark again against the Mexicans in the following World Cup, held in 1954.

Years later, another historic name in Brazilian football joined the relationship. Garrincha, who had a short spell at Corinthians at the end of his career, scored one of the goals in the Brazilian team's victory over Bulgaria in the 1966 World Cup.
The Corinthians player with the most goals in World Cups is Rivellino. Defending Timão during the Brazilian team's third world championship win in 1970, the midfielder scored three times: against Czechoslovakia, in the group stage, against Peru, in the quarter-finals, and against Uruguay, in the semi-final. To this day, he remains the only athlete to win a World Cup while playing for Corinthians.
Another idol on the list is Socrates. The eternal number 8 scored two goals in the 1982 World Cup, against the Soviet Union and Italy. The former midfielder still played in the 1986 World Cup, but was already playing for Flamengo at the time.
The last name in the relationship is Carlos Tévez. Corinthians' main reference in the 2005 Brazilian title campaign, the Argentine played in the 2006 World Cup and scored twice in Argentina's defeat of Serbia and Montenegro, still in the group stage of the competition.
The 2026 edition could increase Corinthians participation in the ranking. Called up by the Netherlands national team, Memphis Depay is the only player from the current Corinthians squad present at the World Cup. If he scores during the tournament, number 10 will become the first European athlete to score goals in a World Cup while playing for the black and white club.
The Netherlands debuts in the competition against Japan, on June 14th. Then, they will face Sweden, on June 20th, and end their participation in the group stage against Tunisia, on the 25th.
