Corinthians and Talleres reach agreement to pay Garro's debt

Corinthians and Talleres reached an agreement to pay the debt for hiring Rodrigo Garro. The Parque São Jorge club will pay around 7 million dollars (around R$ 35 million) for the signing made in January 2024.

The contract will be signed this Tuesday (26), while payment must be made by Saturday (30), as reported by people present at the negotiation. With this, Timão will avoid a new transfer ban.

It is worth remembering that Corinthians is prevented from registering players due to the non-payment of debt by José Martínez, with the Philadelphia Union, from the United States.

What influenced Talleres' change of stance in relation to the amount owed by Timão was how Osmar Stabile and the black and white board treated the debt, as CNN learned.

The president of Corinthians went to Argentina to meet Andrés Fassi, president of La T, to find solutions regarding the amount owed.

In addition, both boards had to give in for the agreement to be closed. Talleres, for example, has already thought about receiving the entire amount in cash, while Corinthians has always wanted to pay the amount in installments.

Rodrigo Garro arrived at Corinthians in 2024 and, with the club, won three titles: the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil, in 2025, and the Supercopa do Brasil, in 2026.
