Corinthians advances in negotiations to renew Gui Amorim's contract

Corinthians is close to guaranteeing the permanence of one of the main promises of its youth categories. The club is negotiating the contract renewal of 18-year-old midfielder Gui Amorim, considered one of the highlights of the black and white generation and seen internally as an athlete with the potential to join the professional squad in the coming years.
The information was initially released by Itatiaia and confirmed by Central do Timão. As determined, the conversations are well underway and the parties are working on the final details for signing a new bond.

Gui Amorim's current contract is valid until July 2027. According to the Central do Timão investigation, Corinthians' intention is to extend the athlete's commitment until the end of 2028, with the option of another two years.
The negotiations are being conducted by the professional football department, under the leadership of executive Marcelo Paz. The direct involvement of the football leadership demonstrates the importance attributed to the midfielder within the club's sporting planning.
Gui Amorim has gained prominence in Corinthians' youth categories over the last few seasons. In 2025, he was one of the main names in the U-17 team, accumulating significant numbers in direct participation in goals and attracting the attention of Brazilian and foreign clubs.
After competing in this year's São Paulo Junior Football Cup, the midfielder became a permanent member of the U20 squad. During the 2026 season, he participated in activities with the main group and is closely monitored by the professional's technical committee.
The athlete's development was interrupted in April, when he suffered a grade two injury to the medial collateral ligament of his right knee. Recovered, he returned to the field at the end of May and resumed his sequence of matches with the black and white shirt.
Even with the period away, Gui continues to be one of the technical references of the U20 team. In the current season, he has played important roles in goals and continues to be identified as one of the most promising players trained by Corinthians in recent years.
In August 2025, the club had already upgraded the player's contract, readjusting salaries and increasing the amounts of termination fines. At the time, as he was still a minor, it was not possible to extend the contract for a longer period of time, a scenario that now allows for a new negotiation.
Internally, the renewal is treated as a strategic move to ensure the permanence of an athlete considered fundamental to the future of Corinthians. The agreement is expected to be concluded in the coming weeks, making Gui Amorim's continuity at Parque São Jorge official.
