The goalless draw against Santos, last Sunday, in the Campeonato Paulista U20, served to expand the good moment Corinthians are experiencing in the category. With the result achieved at the Ulrico Mursa Stadium, Timãozinho reached the mark of eight consecutive matches without suffering defeats during the season.

The current undefeated series began on May 28, when the black and white team drew 3-3 with Red Bull Bragantino, in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. Since then, William Batista's men have won five consecutive victories, beating Mirassol, Avaí, Portuguesa Santista, Vitória and Cruzeiro.

Before the classic against Santos, Corinthians had also drawn 2-2 with Flamengo, a result that contributed to maintaining the positive streak.

The mark achieved by Timãozinho equals the team's best unbeaten period in the last two seasons. Between May and June 2024, Corinthians also went eight games without losing, accumulating victories over Água Santa, São Caetano, Aster Itaquá, São Bernardo and Goiás, as well as draws against Red Bull Bragantino and Juventus.

Now, the black and white cast is trying to expand the series and get closer to even more expressive numbers. The last time the team reached 12 consecutive unbeaten matches was between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, a period in which they recorded nine wins and three draws.

The best recent record, however, was recorded precisely in 2023. That season, Corinthians went 19 games without losing, accumulating 14 wins and five draws.

In the Campeonato Paulista U20, the draw against Santos took Timãozinho to seven points in three matches played, the team did not play in the opening round, currently occupying fifth place in Group 2.

At the end of the first phase of the State Championship, the top ten placed in each group advance to the round of 32, in addition to the two best teams that finish in 11th place between the groups.

Corinthians U20's next commitment will be decisive for the continuation of the season. This Wednesday, at 3pm, the team faces Juventude, at CFAC Juventude, in the final round of the first phase of the Brazilian Championship in the category. In case of victory, Timãozinho guarantees a place in the quarter-finals of the national competition.
