Continuation of "The Walking Dead" gets first trailer; look

The spin-off "The Walking Dead: Dead City" had its third season confirmed in May and, this Monday (8), the first trailer gave fans clues as to what's to come. The series follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), former enemies in the original series who now appear to form an alliance. The premiere date announced by AMC is July 26th.

According to the synopsis released by the television channel, Maggie and Negan come together to carry out a dangerous mission: travel to Manhattan, isolated since the start of the zombie apocalypse, to face challenges even greater than the previous ones, such as a dangerous killer and a military man who is pursuing them. For the producers, "the traumas of [the characters'] tumultuous past can be as big a threat as the dangers of the present."

The cast includes Kim Coates, Gaius Charles, Mahina Napoleon, Zeljko Ivanek, Jonathan Higginbotham, Trey Santiago-Hudson and Charlie Solis. This season, two new prominent members join the production: Jimmi Simpson and Aimee Garcia.

The series is one of three spin-offs of the highly successful production "The Walking Dead", which lasted 11 seasons. The continuation of the universe always follows pairs of characters beloved by fans, such as Rick and Michonne in "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live", which ended in the first season.
