Consortium gains strength with high interest rates and attracts high-income audiences
In a macroeconomic scenario marked by rising interest rates, the consortium has stood out as an increasingly sought-after alternative, especially among high-income consumers. The modality, which does not charge interest, just an administration fee and correction for the value of the asset, presents less fluctuation in costs compared to other forms of credit.
Competitive advantage in times of high interest rates
During an interview with the program "É Negócio", the CEO of Bradesco Consórcios, Nathalia Garcia, explained that the product becomes more attractive precisely when interest rates rise, as it allows the consumer to purchase goods at a lower total cost than conventional financing. "The consortium has no interest, it has a correction for the value of the asset in the letter and there is the administration fee", he explained. When asked about the positive effects of high interest rates on the sector, Garcia considered: "It's favorable, but it's not good for the country, perhaps, for the enterprise, for new ventures, for new entrepreneurship."
Segments served and growth levers
Bradesco Consórcio operates mainly in three segments: heavy vehicles, light vehicles and real estate, with a strategy strongly focused on the real estate sector. Although there are several types of consortium on the market, including services such as plastic surgery, the company opted for a more specific approach. The executive highlighted that the consortium's participation in Brazil is still low, with around 12.7 million people currently consuming the product, which represents a great opportunity for expansion through the presentation and dissemination of the product.
High repurchase rate and consumer profile
One of the most significant data presented was the repurchase rate: at Bradesco Consórcios, eight out of ten customers repurchase new shares. Larger projects, such as those aimed at agribusiness, usually involve the purchase of multiple quotas with statistical bid planning so that contemplation occurs within the deadline expected by the client.
Differences between consortium and financing
Nathália Garcia also highlighted the main distinction between the two modalities: in financing, the client is sure of the date on which they will receive the credit, while in a consortium planning, monitoring of groups and definition of bidding strategies are necessary. If the participant does not bid, they must wait for the draw. However, at the end of the group, all members are included.
