In the early evening of this Wednesday (3), Fatal Fans, the Fatal Model Group's subscription and content sales platform, issued a statement and confirmed negotiations with Corinthians for a strategic sponsorship for the women's, basketball and futsal teams of the Parque São Jorge club. The information had been anticipated by the Meu Timão portal and confirmed by the Central do Timão report.

In a statement sent to the press, the company stated that there are conversations with Corinthians for a long-term project, which would represent the biggest investment in the brand's history in Brazilian sport. Fatal Fans also states that the partnership also aims to strengthen relationships seeking to expand the institution's financial capacity, highlighting that women's football is the priority of a possible partnership, going beyond exposure only to men's professional football.

According to the investigation, the contract would last 12 months and would involve advertising space. The total value of the partnership would exceed R$17 million, with part of it going directly to strengthening women's football, futsal and basketball. The amount would be distributed as follows, according to Meu Timão: Men's football (short; R$ 6 million), Women's football (short; R$ 5 million), Basketball (upper back; R$ 4 million) and futsal (front bar; R$ 2 million).

Throughout the statement, Fatal Fans mentions and commits to adhering to "actions aimed at valuing women's sport, in addition to campaigns that debate the fight against female violence", using the slogan "Respect the Mina", launched in 2018, consolidating the club as one of the greatest powers of the sport in South America.

To TMC on Wednesday night, president Osmar Stabile confirmed the negotiations with the company Fatal Fans and that a SWOT analysis was carried out to establish the strengths and risks of a possible agreement: "We did receive a proposal. We did a SWOT (tool for planning strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) to find out whether or not it could come. There is a proposal and we are carrying out a critical analysis. There is a need for an in-depth analysis to see whether we can proceed or not.

In relation to Basketball and Futsal, the objective is to "maintain sporting competitiveness and strengthen departments."

Behind the scenes of the negotiation

The negotiation underwent analyzes from different sectors of the club, including legal, commercial, administrative, marketing, land sports and social responsibility departments. The compliance sector also evaluated the contract and, according to the publication, did not point out any impediments to the continuation of negotiations, although it highlighted possible image risks related to the agreement.

Corinthians would also have held consultations with media professionals specializing in women's football, as well as movements and collectives linked to the sport. According to the portal, the responses received were in favor of continuing the conversations. The director of women's football, Iris Sesso, and leaders of the Brabas squad were also informed about the project in a meeting held last week. According to Meu Timão, the group gave approval for negotiations to continue.

One of the main points discussed during the negotiations involves brand exposure. According to the investigation, Corinthians determined that Fatal Fans should not appear on women's football uniforms. Instead, the space would be used for educational and social campaigns throughout the term of the contract. Among the themes planned for these actions would be raising awareness about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), combating harassment, combating discrimination and preventing domestic violence.

According to the portal, other demands were also presented by the club and accepted by the company. Among them are the prohibition of directly associating athletes with the platform, the veto of content that relates Corinthians to the eroticization or objectification of the body and the non-use of the brand in lower categories.

The company would also have agreed to reformulate its visual identity to adapt it to the parameters established by the club. Another point considered relevant in negotiations is the payment method. According to Meu Timão, Corinthians requested that more than 60% of the total value of the contract be transferred to the club in the first 90 days of the partnership, a condition that would have been accepted by Fatal Fans. According to the publication, only final adjustments remain before a possible formalization of the agreement.

FatalFans, a company from the Fatal Model Group, confirms that it is in negotiations with Corinthians to facilitate a partnership that could represent the largest investment in the company's history in Brazilian sport. The conversations involve a long-term project aimed at different modalities of the club, with a special focus on strengthening women's football, futsal and basketball, in addition to men's football.

In this sponsorship proposal, women's football appears as a priority within the project, in line with the Fatal Model Group's commitment to encouraging respect, safety and dignity in the markets in which it operates.

The Corinthians women's team, known nationally by the slogan "Respect the Minas", has consolidated itself as one of the greatest powers of the sport in South America and is seen internally as a strategic asset of the institution. Within the conversations, the proposal provides support for the structural strengthening of the sport and actions aimed at valuing women's sport, in addition to campaigns that discuss the fight against female violence.

In addition to women's football, the project discussed between the parties also involves support for the club's two other traditional sports: basketball and futsal. Both are part of the strategy of building a broad partnership, aimed at maintaining sporting competitiveness and strengthening departments.

The sponsorship proposal between Corinthians and FatalFans aims to go beyond brand exposure on the teams' uniforms. The idea is to build a broader relationship, involving different sports areas of the club and expanding the institution's investment capacity.
