Colombian company Daabon begins operations in Pará, after purchasing Agropalma

Palm production in Brazil now has a new multinational member, the Colombian company Daabon, which officially began operating in Pará this Thursday (18), after completing the total purchase of the operations of Agropalma, one of the largest and main palm oil producers in Latin America.

The Colombian group is a reference in organic food production and enters Brazil strengthened to control Agropalma's new business phase. With the purchase, the century-old Daabon now operates on four continents and expands supply businesses with integrated chains - from production to industrialization.

"The integration of Agropalma into the Daabon Group represents an opportunity to strengthen the responsible development of the palm oil sector in Brazil.", declared Giancarlo Dávila, CEO of Agropalma, in a statement released to the press.

The Brazilian acquisition process involves all Agropalma units in Pará, which include the plantation area and forest reserve, six extraction industries in Thailand (PA) and the refinery in Belém.

The refinery located in Limeira (SP), which was not included in the purchase agreement, now operates entirely as Indústrias Xhara, maintaining the management of the APAR Holdings group.

The Colombian company also ensures full traceability to the plantation, commitments to zero deforestation and continuity of community development programs, maintaining Agropalma's operations.

According to the companies' statement, Daabon's definitive entry into Brazil "marks the beginning of a cycle of new strategic investments in Pará", including job creation.
