Colombia confirmed the leadership of Group K of the 2026 World Cup by drawing 0-0 with Portugal, this Saturday (27), at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami. The result was enough for the South Americans to finish in first place in the group, while the Portuguese advanced in second place to the knockout stage.
The match pitted two teams already qualified for the knockout phase face to face. Portugal depended on a victory to take the lead in the group, but found it difficult to face strong Colombian marking and were unable to find the net.

How the game went
Colombia started better and created the main opportunities of the first stage. In the first minute, Luis Díaz invaded the area from the left, sent a cross and, after a deflection, Córdoba headed over the crossbar. Shortly afterwards, James Rodríguez took a risk from outside the area and was in danger. The best chance came in the 16th minute, when Arias recovered the ball and launched Córdoba, who came out at speed and forced Diogo Costa to make a great save.
Portugal balanced their actions throughout the first half and also faced danger. The main opportunity was in the 38th minute, when Bruno Fernandes finished from close range and saw Vargas save Colombia.
In the final stage, the Portuguese returned more present in the attack. João Félix wasted a good opportunity after a cross from Dalot, while Cristiano Ronaldo found the net in a move disallowed for offside.
Colombia responded in the 21st minute, when Puerta took advantage of the ball at the edge of the area and finished dangerously, knocking the paint off the post.
Portugal tried to press in search of victory, but found it difficult to overcome the Colombian defense. Dalot also took a risk from outside the area, without success.
At the end of the game, Colombia pressed and had a great chance with Luiz Suarez, which didn't end in a goal. One last big chance came early in stoppage time, with a Colombian goal disallowed for offside.
