Held in New York during Brazilian Week, Brasil-U.S. Industry Day placed industry at the center of discussions about the relationship between Brazil and the United States. Promoted by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the meeting brought together businesspeople, investors and authorities to discuss paths for economic cooperation and industrial development.

For CNI, the event played an important role in bringing the productive sector closer to strategic discussions between the two countries. The assessment is that, in a global scenario marked by trade disputes, tariffs and the reorganization of production chains, dialogue between industry, governments and investors has become even more necessary.

"The role of this event is to bring together sectors that need to work together. While governments respond to geopolitical issues, the business sector works with medium and long-term planning, investments, legal security and the business environment. Without this effort of articulation and joint construction, it becomes more difficult to transform opportunities into concrete results", said Ricardo Alban, president of CNI.

Industry as an axis of development
According to Ricardo Alban, the decision to create a space specifically focused on industry arose from the perception that global economic discussions have been increasingly influenced by industrial policies adopted by different countries.

"The debate on tariffs, trade and competitiveness passes directly through industry. In a week focused on investments and opportunities for Brazil, it was important to ensure that this topic was also at the center of conversations", said the president of the CNI.

Alban also argued that strengthening the industry is an essential part of any sustainable growth strategy. "There is no recent example of consistent economic development without a strong industry prepared to compete globally," he said.

The president of the CNI also highlighted that the meeting sought to increase rapprochement between companies, investors and authorities from both countries. "When different sectors are able to sit at the same table, opportunities for complementarity, exchange and joint development arise. This is what strengthens relations between Brazil and the United States", he concluded.
