Brazilian agribusiness entities celebrate the decision of the plenary session of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) to recognize, this Thursday (21), the constitutionality of the law that changed the area of the Jamanxim National Park, in Pará, to enable the construction of Ferrogrão, a railway designed to connect Sinop (MT) to Itaituba (PA) and expand the flow of agricultural production from the Center-West.

This railway is seen as the sector's "key" to improving the transport of agricultural products from the field to ports, one of the sector's main bottlenecks.

For the CNA (Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil), the railway will be "a protagonist in solving infrastructure and transport bottlenecks"

"Ferrogrão is an essential step towards consolidating agricultural activity in this region of the country, ensuring production growth and reducing transport pressure on federal highways", stated the entity in a note.

Aprosoja (Brazilian Association of Soy Producers) also celebrated the approval and considers the railway essential for the future of national agriculture

"After almost 10 years, we finally have a decision that will allow Brazil to get this strategic railway off the ground", celebrated the president of Aprosoja Brasil, Maurício Buffon.
