Clearance in Peru exceeds 50%; Keiko remains ahead of Sánchez Palomino

With more than 50% of the electoral records already counted, right-wing candidate Keiko Fujimori remains ahead in the counting of votes in the second round of the presidential election in Peru.

At around 11:42 am, electoral authorities indicated that, with 50.2% of the records counted, Keiko scored 52.72% of the valid votes.

Left-wing candidate Roberto Sánchez Palomino had 47.28%.

Around 10.8 million votes have already been counted in Peru. Of these, 10 million were directed to one of the candidates.
