Civil Police investigate flannels around Vila Belmiro, in Santos

The Civil Police carried out, this Wednesday (20), an operation in the region of the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, Vila Belmiro, in Santos (SP), following reports of extortion and damage done by vehicle guards, known as "flanelinhas".

The action occurred after the registration of a police report. Fans of Santos Futebol Clube reported that they were being coerced into making high payments to park on public roads, and forced to buy tickets directly from the "flannels". Furthermore, in cases of refusal, vehicles were damaged.

During investigations, investigation teams worked around the stadium and identified 23 individuals who, as determined, recurrently work as vehicle guards in the region.

According to the police, the information collected was cataloged and became part of a structured database, a tool that will allow data to be crossed in future investigations, helping to identify perpetrators of similar crimes, recognize patterns of activity and identify recurrence.

Investigations are ongoing with the aim of identifying the perpetrators of the crimes already recorded, including the case that gave rise to the investigation.
