City of São Paulo records coldest afternoon of the year this Friday (22)

The city of São Paulo recorded, this Friday (22), the coldest afternoon of the year, with a maximum temperature of 16.1ºC and a minimum of 13°C.

According to the Emergency Management Center (CGE) of the City of São Paulo, the average maximum temperature in the capital of São Paulo was 15.1°C, the lowest in 2026 to date.

The highest number on thermometers was 16.1ºC, at Mirante de Santana, in the North Zone of the city.

At the Engenheiro Marsilac meteorological station, at the extreme south of the city, the highest temperature recorded on the day was just 13.7°C.

For this weekend, the São Paulo Civil Defense issued a warning for rain and strong winds across the state. There is a risk of flooding, falling trees and other disturbances, especially in the east of São Paulo.

Between Saturday (23) and Sunday (24), the passage of a low pressure system is expected to cause storms with gusty winds.

Weather forecast for the weekend
On Saturday (23), a large part of the state should be affected by areas of instability generated by the low pressure system. In the capital of São Paulo, there is potential for flooding, especially between the morning and afternoon.

The forecast is for more intense rain in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, Campinas, Sorocaba, Bauru, Baixada Santista, São José dos Campos and cities close to the border with Paraná.

From Sunday (24), the system begins to move away from the state, losing its intensity and with little precipitation.

The areas of Presidente Prudente, Itapeva, Araçatuba, Marília, Bauru, Sorocaba, the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo and Baixada Santista may also be affected by strong gusts of wind.

In case of intense rain, Civil Defense recommends avoiding flooded areas, riverbanks and places at risk of landslides, in addition to not taking shelter under trees or metal structures during gusts of wind.
