This year alone, Charlize Theron, 50, can be seen playing a mountaineer and a Greek goddess of water. Filming the two productions was physically demanding on the actress, who had to prepare herself to be able to act in the films.

The most recent role is as the goddess Calypso in the film "The Odyssey", by Christopher Nolan, director of "Oppenheimer". Theron said the recordings were "brutal" because the location, an island in Morocco, was very windy.

"I got there and realized: to be the windsurfing capital of the world, you need a lot of wind. But it was also incredible, because you feel like you were in the place where Calypso would have emerged from," he said in an interview with Elle magazine. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 16th in Brazil.

In the film, she stars alongside Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon, who praised her colleague's professionalism even when the wool got in her eyes.

"She had to do these scenes, which were already challenging, with a wind of 50 to 65 kilometers per hour throwing sand in her eyes. She was feeling enormous discomfort. I've known her for a long time, and she's one of those people who never complains. When she said 'I'm sorry, I can't keep my eyes open', she was angry. I think that was harder for her than anything else."

In April, Theron debuted in "Apex", which arrived on Netflix in April. In the plot, she is Sasha, a woman who likes adventure and who needs to survive in the wild nature of Australia when she begins to be chased by a killer.

In one of the film's scenes, Theron climbs a gorge and jumps from a nine-meter cliff. The scenes were made by herself.

The actress said that, for the role, she took training classes with a climber and compared the preparation to Marine training. "That was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It's special when you have the opportunity to film in places like that and really feel impacted by them. You're not manufacturing anything. I think we all have a certain personality of wanting to excel."
