Chappell Roan reveals reasons for not having social media on your cell phone

Singer Chappell Roan, 28, revealed that she does not have social media apps on her cell phone. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the artist reflected on the impacts of constantly reading negative comments about her.

However, Chappell confessed that it is a challenge to stay away from the networks, as they have become an important part of building an image and career in the muscle industry.

"It's very, very difficult for an artist these days to separate social media from work and being a good person, because of the importance of numbers and comments," she said. "It's such a difficult world to navigate that, personally, if I just delete everything and move on, I can get out of this hurricane (...). I'm in a very privileged position where I can say, 'I'm not going to participate in this and everything will be fine'. But not everyone is like that."

The singer's interview took place at the opening event of the Elton John Impact Awards, which honored Roan and other pioneering members of the LGBTQ+ community in the music world. On the occasion, Elton John shared a memory about how he discovered Roan's music and commented that he was happy to see someone so young connect so quickly with the queer community.

"You immediately won me over, not only with your music, but also with your connection to the community. I thought that was brilliant," said the "Your song" and "Rocket man" singer.
