Fabio Matias leaves Chape after 10 matches and just two wins, as well as a draw and seven defeats (around 23% success rate). The coach had taken over the role after the dismissal of Gilmar Dal Pozzo.
Chapecoense advanced to the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil and has an advantage in the semifinals of the Copa Sul-Sudeste, but the campaign in the Brasileirão is frightening. At the bottom, Verdã do Oeste has just nine points and hasn't won since its debut in January.
On Sunday (25), Chape was defeated by Cruzeiro 2-1 at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte. Defender João Paulo scored for the visitors after goals from Kaio Jorge and Sinisterra.
