Champions League: PSG could join a select group of European champions

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal compete, this Saturday (28), in the Champions League final.

The confrontation takes place at 1 pm (Brasília time), in Budapest, Hungary.

The decision could place the French team in an extremely select group in the history of European football.

Current champions, PSG seeks to equal a feat that only Real Madrid has achieved in the competition: winning their second title.

Since the name change of the old European Cup to the Champions League in 1992, only the Whites have managed to successfully defend the title.

The Spanish club reached the historic milestone of lifting the cup in three consecutive seasons: 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18, under the command of Zinedine Zidane.

Against Arsenal, PSG is now trying to end a drought of almost a decade without consecutive two-time champions in the continent's main club tournament.

If they confirm the title against the English, the Parisian team will join a list of giants that have managed to dominate Europe in more than one edition in a row.

Throughout the entire history of the Champions Cup and the current Champions League, only eight clubs have achieved this feat:
